Tom Kha Lobo Soup Paste is an aromatic base for preparing the famous Thai coconut soup with a delicate and balanced flavor. Tom Kha is very similar to Tom Yum soup, but it has a much milder and less spicy taste. Thanks to the combination of coconut milk, galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, the soup becomes creamy, sweet-sour, and richly aromatic at the same time.
The paste harmoniously combines traditional Thai ingredients such as galangal, lemongrass, coriander root, shallot, and kaffir lime. They create a distinctive Asian aroma with light citrus freshness and gentle spice notes. Tom Kha is perfect for those who want to discover Thai cuisine without excessive heat.
Salt 25%, galangal 15%, lemongrass 12%, sugar 10%, palm oil 10%, flavour enhancer (monosodium glutamate) 5%, kaffir lime peel 5%, shallot 5%, coriander root 5%, chilli 5%, acidity regulator (citric acid) 3%.
Boil dried Thai herbs available in our store in 0.5 L of water: lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal. After boiling, remove the herbs from the broth.
Add chicken and cook until done. Then add mushrooms — oyster mushrooms are ideal, but button mushrooms can also be used.
Pour in 240 g of coconut milk, add the Tom Kha paste, and if needed add another 0.5 L of water. For balanced flavor, add fish sauce to taste, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and one onion cut into large pieces.
Simmer the soup for about 1 minute after adding the onion, then turn off the heat. Before serving, sprinkle with fresh coriander leaves for a bright aroma and authentic Thai flavor.
